Yale University continues its tradition of distinguished art research as it explores their Art Gallery's holdings of Chinese art from the perspective of the traditional Chinese scholar-collector. The two most esteemed arts were calligraphy and painting, and they are beautifully illustrated in this publication. Selections range from 11th century images to early 20th century writing in the ancient seal script. Bronze and ceramic vessels and the scholars' accoutrements also are featured.
