"ZiChan Chunqiu" is a book with a strong reminiscence tone, focusing on the developmental history of the Pudong School of PiPa culture in China over two and a half centuries, covering its origins, growth, establishment, and renaissance. Shen Haochu and Lin Shicheng are the prominent figures representing the Pudong School of PiPa over two centuries. The PiPa is a traditional plucked instrument that originated in East Asia, and its development in China spans nearly three thousand years. The Pudong School of PiPa has a rich and profound historical lineage and is the most influential PiPa school in China. It has been included in the third batch of China's national intangible cultural heritage list. Lin Shicheng was also a key figure in the Ethnic Department and PiPa program at the Central Conservatory of Music in China. He established a comprehensive, scientific, and instructive "Lin Shicheng PiPa Teaching Method" and dedicated his life to the vision of integrating various traditional PiPa schools into a unified "Greater Chinese PiPa School". He nurtured a large number of outstanding successors for China and the Central Conservatory of Music. The author Luo Fu, studied under Lin Shicheng for 38 years, this book is the first project in China designated by Lin Shicheng for Luo Fu's study, he personally guide this project, which approached the subject from the perspectives of history, musicology, PiPa cultural, and a global viewpoint. It systematically analyzes the specialized topic spanning nearly two and a half centuries from Shen Hooch to Lin Shicheng in the Pudong School of PiPa.
