This issue of the Journal of the American Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences is a multi-disciplinary collection of academic papers in science and humanities, dedicated to our late member, George Emil Palade, the 1974 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine. [The American Romanian Academy (ARA) was founded in 1975 in California by a group of Romanian intellectuals residing in USA, as the leading scholarly institution dedicated to the analysis study and dissemination of Romanian contributions and accomplishments. Since its inception ARA members included very well known personalities such as Eugen Ionesco, Virgil Gheorghiu, Mircea Eliade, Ioan P. Culiano, George E. Palade, and others.) All papers are peer reviewed contributions in science and humanities.
