Chagas disease is found only in the Americas, mainly in rural areas of Latin America where poverty is widespread, and affects close to 7 million people. Bolivia is one of the countries with greater prevalence of the disease. For three months the author lived in Valle Nuevo (Province of Chiquitos) with Bolivian families affected by this illness. "These photographs are the story of those people. I want to show how they live, their reality, their shortcomings and their riches and I hope through them, to raise awareness about a situation mostly ignored and of which very little is done: Chagras disease.ʺ--(HKB Translation) --Page [11]
