HANDBOEK: ANS WESTRA PHOTOGRAPHS is the exhibition guidebook produced to accompany the exhibition of the same name. It showcases Westra's 45 year photographic journey, documenting the lives and cultures of New Zealanders during a period of social, cultural and generational change. Ans Westra's arrival in New Zealand in 1957, from the Netherlands, coincided with the urban shift of M ori and the increasing post-war arrival of European migrants. Her photographs provide an insight into the evolution of race relations in New Zealand, and portray an important time for the changing relationship between M ori and Pakeha.
