thick paper covers, about 14 by 21 cm., or 5.5 by 8.25 inches, 173 pages, almost every page illustrated with one or more color photographs, text is in Mandarin Chinese As far as I know, this is the only survey that I've seen that covers the numerous kinds of mollusks that are used as food around the world. Although I am sure that the list is far from complete the book does cover a large number of species, some of which are quite surprising. There is no index but the book is divided into sections,a brief introduction, Marine Bivalves, Marine Gastropods, Chitons, Cephalopods, Freshwater Mollusca, and Land Snails. Each species is presented by good quality color photographs with the name of each species in standard scientific notation. The text of the book is in Mandarin Chinese.
