Canadian Heritage and other agencies commissioned a study to assess the potential markets for ecotourism in Alberta and British Columbia. The market demand assessment considered ecotourism as tourism related to nature, adventure, and culture in the countryside. This report presents the results of one component of the study, an ecotourism market literature review. The review covers ecotourism traveller characteristics, trip characteristics, the selection of travel suppliers by the ecotourist, resident ecotourism markets in Alberta and British Columbia, and Alaska tourism markets and trip activities. The ecotourism bibliography contained in this report includes an inventory of the focus and information provided in each document.
