This exhibition catalouge reflects on the nature of history. It brings together works by twelve artists and collectives, most stemming from the former Soviet sphere, where the past was regularly, often at great human cost, rewritten as a means to control the future. Many of the featured works address complicated historical narratives from those places and times. Others consider the nature of time itself and the myriad ways it shapes memory and life. The publication also contains information on another exhibition at the Blaffer Art Museum,Immortality for All: A Film Trilogy on Russian Cosmism by Anton Vidokle.
