Asia Englishes and MiscommunicationToday, English is no longer the language of native speakers (NSs), but the language of non-native speakers (NNSs). Therefore, the linguists and the non-linguists have to know the different English used in different regions of the world so that they can "communicate, understand and interpret" the meaning. We will explore English in a new light by developing a debate on the bi-directionality principle in both English and non-native speakers of English. There is a premise that English belongs to non-native speakers as well as native speakers. This principle, which claims that native speakers and non-linguists must learn from each other, is different from other languages such as Filipino English, Singapore English, Hong Kong English, Chinese English, Korean English and Japanese English,? It is argued as a glocalized English.
