Excerpt:... ADDRESS OP CALDWELL YEAMAN, PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION. We are assembled in third annual session of the Colorado Bar Association--the close of the third year of organized existence. For the brief period of this meeting, we should make a sturdy effort to lay aside, as far as may be permitted by the ever recurring demands upon our time and attention, all professional and business cares and engagements, and direct our united thoughts and endeavors to the objects and purposes of this Association. The Denver bar extends to Association members from other parts of the state, a cordial welcome to the Capitol City, and unites with them in mutual effort to cultivate the most cordial intercourse among the lawyers of Colorado. In obedience to the requirements of our by-laws, I invite your attention briefly to a few thoughts and suggestions submitted as nppropriate to this occasion. Primarily, we may justly be congratulant that the growth of the Association has been steady and healthy. The membership is not over large and, in the main, is eminently satisfactory. No effort has been made by general or indiscriminate solicitation to increase the numbers. It is now, and from the time of its organization has been, self-supporting and has happily reached a period in its brief history where its influence and achievements for professional and public good are commanding respect and commendation. Though there is evidence of praiseworthy and constant progress toward the accomplishment of the avowed objects of the Association, it has by no means reached its full measure of usefulness.
