Excerpt from book: SIXTH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE Bar Association of Arkansas LITTLE ROCK, MAY 26-27, 1903. TUESDAY MORNING, MAY 26. The Bar Association met at 10:30 a. m., being called to order by Mr. J. F. Loughborough, acting for Judge Joseph. W. House, chairman of the Executive Committee, who was ill. Prayer was offered by Rev. G. Gordon Smeade. The following new members were announced by the Executive Committee: R. L. Rogers, Van Buren; Samuel N. Casey, Bates- ville; Lyman F. Reeder, Batesville; Robert Martin, Little Rock; Garner Fraser, Clinton; Gus M. Fulk, Little Rock; June P. Wooten, Little Rock; B. L. Moore, Van Buren; A. S. Hays, Atkins; D. H. Hawthorne, Jonesboro; Jesse C. Hart, Little Rock, and M. M. Stuckey, Newport. President George B. Rose was introduced by Mr. Loughborough and delivered the annual address. (See page 27.) Judge Joseph W. Martin made a few remarks, and in closing said that the excellent memorial should be permanently preserved. Upon motion of Mr. W. L. Terry, a rising vote of thanks was tendered President Rose for the paper. At the conclusion of the reading of President Rose's address the Association adjourned until 2 p. m. Mr. Loughborough announced for to-night a reception to the members of the Association, given by Judge and Mrs. Thomas B. Martin at their residence on Fifteenth and Spring Streets. TUESDAY AFTERNOON. Association called to order by President Rose at 2 p. m. Judge W. S. McCain precipitated a spirited discussion by the introduction of the following resolution: Resolved, That the Supreme Court be requested to publish the opinions contained in the Southwestern Reporter not published in the Reports, and all other written opinions hereafter delivered.
