This book takes a close look at how various East Asian governments in general and education institutions in particular have responded to the impact of globalization. Although strategies along the lines of decentralization and internationalization have become increasingly popular in the governance of higher education in Asian societies, there is still a gap between reform, rhetoric, and reality.
