Discusses options to understand better floating production, storage and offloading systems technology worldwide. DeepStar is an industrywide cooperative effort focused on identification and development of economically viable, low risk methods to produce hydrocarbons from deep water tracts. The result was this 1997 report from the meeting: the information presented, the discussions, and any recommendations that were made by the participants. Also includes a copy of the agenda. This effort was not intended to be a decision document, but a first step in an ongoing effort to understand the issues associated with deep water development.
