Faster than a flying meatball let loose by an insolent hedgehog, more water soluble than a magic marker floating free among a load of delicates, and heavier than a grandmother who ate too many slices of eggplant, Oblivious to the Obvious: Wishfully Mindful Parentingbreaks through the barriers of dime store strictures and invites all grownups to celebrate, to contemplate, and to gyrate in tempo to the stresses and joys of caretaking young ones. From mountains of laundry to lizards left roaming among dirty dishes, Oblivious to the Obvioussets up house in the hallowed hindmost region of sleep deprived adults' minds. Junk mail, endlessly chiming computers and incorrigible kittens are only a sample of the denizens that populate this book. There are no garbage-strewn parking garages so awful or bathroom floods so deep as to be irredeemable by such good tales. Moan if you wish, but hurry to join the growing population of Oblivious to the Obvious readers who accept that schedules, polite children and clean closets are entirely absurd and somewhat undesirable.
