This project supported some preschools with additional specialised staff, for example, Family Support Facilitators, Aboriginal Family and Community Workers and Speech Pathologists to work with staff, families and children. KU ELLI was funded from 2007? 2015 by the Australian Government through the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, and the Department of Social Services.Evidence shows that KU ELLI enhanced family relationships and family support for children's language and literacy. It helped staff to extend children's language and literacy learning at preschool, family referrals to professionals and family participation at the preschool and in the community.
