Do Nguyên Mai's second poetry collection Battlefield Blooming pivots from her initial focus on Vietnamese history to the present, drawing from more contemporary topics such as refugee resettlement and police brutality both to reflect on her lineage of displacement and to speculate about what futures she might live as a young woman, a daughter of refugees, and a Southeast Asian American mother.
