Nanostructures and nanomaterialsIn the new version, words and sentences were exchanged and rearranged to clarify meaning, mainly in chapters 3, 4, 6 and 9. Chapter 3 contains the latest information on synthesis of nanoparticles and core-shell nanostructures. A review of the synthesis and characterization of inorganic nanotubes other than carbon nanotubes was added in Chapter 4. Chapter 6 adds a section on inverse opal and bioinductive materials with additional information on the synthesis of mesoporous materials. Chapter 9 extends the application of nanomaterials and nanostructures to lithium ion batteries, hydrogen storage, thermoelectric, environmental applications, photonic crystals, and plasmonic devices through extensive expansions. In addition, chapters 1, 5, and 8 replace the illustrations.
