There are varied types of books that discuss ethnographic research in education, but "Ethnographic Observation and Analysis: Research in American Classrooms" is the first cultural study of its kind. It is a theoretical and practical guide for educational researchers interested in ethnographic studies; it discusses how a cultural perspective can guide a study by reflective process; and it provides sample research that was a product of ethnographic observation and analysis. The collaborative work between the authors, Mi-Hyun Chung and Jeonghee Choi, is remarkable in that it explains their methodological procedures and shares their cultural experiences as educators and researchers.
