In 2015, The World Health Organisation (who) Declared That Antimicrobial Resistance (amr) Is A Global Health And Develop-ment Threat, Citing Amr As One Of The Top 10 Global Public Health Threats Facing Humanity. The Rise In Antimicrobial Resistant Path-ogens Threatens Not Just Safe And Effective Healthcare, But Results In Wider Societal Threats, Such As On Food Security. Strategies To Target Amr Have Grown In Prominence Over The Last Decade, And Antimicrobial Stewardship (ams) Is High On Both The Health And Political Agenda. In The Uk, The Department Of Health And Social Care (dhsc) Has Published Its 5-year Action Plan For Amr (2019 To 2024) To Support The Uk 20-year Vision For Antimicro-bial Resistance (amr In 2040). However, Resistant Pathogens Are Not Limited By Borders And Success In The Fight Against Amr Will Only Be Achieved By A Concerted Global Effort, Encompassing Human, Animal And Environmental Domains. Fortunately, The Scale Of The Amr Threat, And The Need To Contain And Control It, Is Widely Acknowledged By Governments, International Agencies, Researchers And Private Companies Alike. A Selection Of Re-sources Regarding Amr And The Global Response Can Be Seen In Table 1.2, And Ams Is Discussed Further On P.xxx Chapter 6-- Provided By Publisher.
