The preservation of genetic diversity and the conservation of rare and endangered species depends on a sound understanding of the fundamental limiting factors in animal survival, which include genetics, disease, nutrition, reproduction, and veterinary care. This volume reviews the most recentscientific advances pertinent to animal conservation, production, and management, providing information needed to assist in the preservation of exotic species in captivity and in the wild.
