Each chapter in this skills-based, thematically-organized program begins with a conversation component that prepares students linguistically and intellectually for the readings that follow. Discussions after the readings are more abstract and encourage true extended discourse. Task-based activities develop chapter themes and give students the vocabulary and structures they need to achieve their conversation goals.
